I Need Your Help

R.I.P little laptop
When I dropped my laptop off at the repair shop they told me it was the little thing that the plug plugs into that is attached to the motherboard.
That is a $300 repair. I took a big gulp and said they should just repair it.
Hey, it's way cheaper than buying a new laptop. Right??

Then they called me a week later and told me it is in tacked and that the mother board is fried.
That repair would cost $500 to repair.
I gagged for a quick moment and then pulled myself together.
I think a tear escaped my eye and rolled down my cheek.
I told them not to bother, I would pick up the computer.
I have to be honest, I am a little pissed about this.
It is 13 months old.....1 month out of the warranty.
UGH!!!!!

Now here is my dilemma...
Now I have to buy a new laptop.
Remember, I don't share well.
I need my own computer.

Do any of you have a laptop?
I need to know if any of you recommend one.
I am not a mac girl.
I can't justify spending $1300 on a computer.
I pretty much surf the web, blog, download photos and update my Etsy store.
I don't need anything too fancy.
My previous laptop was a Toshiba Satellite.

I haven't been blogging because I don't like our desktop computer.
For some reason it takes like 10 minutes to warm up.
Please, if you are going to ask me why I would like you to e-mail me.
I will give you my hubby's e-mail address.
GO ASK HIM!

Please, please, please let me know if you are happy with your laptop.
THANK YOU!!!
You are all the best bloggy friends a girl could ask for.

PS. I'm so happy....I did back up my computer just a few days before she fell ill :)

I am passionately in love with my HP laptop. I have had zero problems and the price was right.

I have an HP at home, not a laptop, but I love it, have never had a problem with it...!! But my IT guy here at works loves him a DELL...good luck!

My laptop is about to quit after 3 years. It is a Dell we have always had a Dell. I like it except for the fact it goes through power cords. I have bought 5 in 3 years at $65.00 a pop. After much internet research it seems to be one of the pitfalls of their product. For this reason my next laptop will not be a Dell. Can't wait to read the comments.

I own a refurbished Dell (I know...) that I got from Dell for around $700. It's still working like a dream!

I am so sorry it is a month out of warranty. I am still a desktop girl, I can't figure out the tiny little space of the keyboard to do my super lightning fast typing. I hope you find the perfect one and I sent you a link to a sale on facebook.

Hi Amy,
Sorry I can't help you out because I own a desktop. My son is a mac guy all the way, but I don't like change so I still have a PC.
Good luck on whatever you decide to get!! I think they both have their pros and cons.
Blessings~

Hi Amy,
We have a Dell computer now but not a laptop version.
We liked our previous one better which was a Sony Vaio. I hope you find a good one very soon.

Many Blessings and Happy Fall!

We have a Dell desktop, and my son has a Dell laptop. We love them. Had a HP before this and I wouldn't go back to it. The way I see it the schools, library, etc uses Dell. So they must be good.

That's great you had backed up your computer! Mine died on me and well it was scary. Not sure which one to tell you to get. i have a 5 year old Dell that is still great. Inspirion. Nothing fancy but it has lasted a lot longer than 13 months. I got a virus and the ethernet port was hit by lighting but I'm still up and going. Could have more features (I'm sure all new ones come with) but I'm happy! Good Luck. I hope you get one soon. I hate sharing my passwords get screwed up when there are 3 different email accounts, etc. But alas I have no choice. Can't wait to see what you get!
Hugs, Lisa

Okay, I LOVE MY MAC. Hubby got it for me for Mother's Day, birthday, anniversary, you get my drift, and I didn't really want one. I thought way too much money for just me to use for blogging, internet, pictures, email, etc. But it is so wonderful and easy and light! I say take the plunge and go for the MAC!

My parents bought my 3 other siblings and I new laptops for Christmas last year. We got Dell Inspiron's and love them. The fun part is that my dad got different skins on the outside for us. All of us and our spouses love them and no problems yet.
