All In 24 Hours

So we went to Parent's Night at Bradley's camp lastnight.

There was a very serious game of Capture the Flag...
Ya know...
Kids vs. Parents

Needless to say, I ended up in "jail."

I look to find Bill and he is limping.

I gave him the look of "come on....shake it off...get back on the field, Grandpa."
Come on...he is 10 years older than me.

He finally made it to me and said "I really think I should go to Urgent Care...I heard something pop in my leg!"

I rolled my eyes and told him "go sit down, this game will be over in about 10 minutes."

Well this is what happened......

He tore his calf muscle. Not pulled....torn.

I sure wish I could remember the medical name for that muscle.
We will all just have to settle with "calf muscle."

They loaded him up with some meds.

Please notice the plate and glass.
Through all his pain he was able to manage to get and Eclaire and a glass of milk down.
Hey, I think you are suppose to take pain meds with food.
RIGHT??

Don't worry....he was still able to use his Crack-berry!!!!

Not sure what the story is with the chinese yo-yo.
See, he is just a little boy at heart!

How bad do you think I felt when I was irritated that he hurt himself.
I think I will get a plaque made up that says...

" #1 Wife"
or
"Wife of the Year"

The side note to all this is Asher came home and told us when he was jumping off of a diving board at his friends house he hit his friends head.
I gave him an ice pack and sent him to bed.

He woke up this morning with 2 black eyes and bent nose.

Guess where he is.....YEP.....URGENT CARE!

Happy Wednesday~

OH AMY! You know that book: Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day? I think they need to change the name from Alexander to Amy and change Day to WEEK.

I'm so sorry....You're AMAZINGLY encouraging, positive and you've got your sense of humor through all these 'incidences'......and that is contagious!

Take care, Nurse Amy...(hey, its a promotion from housemaid!)

Oh my word!!! Those poor guys! Several years ago when Tork said he thought he needed to go to the ER for stomach pain, I told him to take some tums. WELL, he ended up needing his appendix out. I know how you feel!
I hope they all feel better quickly!

Oh wow! You've just had a bad couple of days here. I hope it swings around in your favor soon. Was Bill able to go to work so you could have your Maisy Time?

Oh my goodness!!!! Hope they all feel better soon. I guess your fam needs one of those bells to ring!

* They finally cut out the parents vs. teachers and students vs. teachers games at Field Day because every year, multiple teachers or assistants would have to leave work and get a walk-in appointment at the nearby clinic. The last game that was played, the p.e. teacher put a disclaimer at the bottom: "Play at your own risk." We were only playing volleyball. LOL

Well, you're over 'humpday'...so it should get better the remainder of the week.

Hope your hubby feels better soon. Though capture the flag was a favorite game in my youth, don't think it would go very well for me now.

Oh, Amy, I can relate. I spent a few hours in Emerg at the Children's Hospital on Monday after my son (12) gashed his leg open on a piece of metal at the playground (he was with two of his female classmates at the time). I knew something was up when his friend called me on son's cell phone - she said that my son hurt his leg and "may need a few stitches" so I should come and pick him up from the library. By the time I came with the other two kids in tow, there was a whole scene at the library which included 3 neighbourhood security agents, two of whom were administering first aid, librarians, many onlookers, and my son about to pass out. Well, got him all stitched up, tetanus shot, and a minor tylenol overdose administered by husband to son the first night of excruciating pain later, all is fine. Hope your team recovers soon!

Oh my!!! I can only imagine the pain your husband is in! And I probably would have reacted the same way at first! Don't be so hard on yourself!

And your poor boy! Hopefully everything is okay and his nose isn't broken.

Interesting summer so far!

Oh my goodness! I am so sorry for your poor hubby and Asher! Wow, two black eyes and a bent nose, poor guy! How long will Bill's calf take to heal?

I hope everyone heals up quickly. Maybe a quiet weekend at home is in order!? :)

Oh no, poor thing!!! I hope he feels better soon. I have something that will make you feel better, wanna hear? Last fall my hubby was complaining of stomach pains. Having just gotten over a stomach bug, I told him it would pass and not to worry. He kept complaining and I rolled my eyes at him more than once. He was being SO dramatic and I wanted him to suck it up. Turns out, he had kidney stones! OMG I felt so bad. But men are normally babies about just a silly cold so I didn't realize how sick he was. There, feel better? :)
