~Maisy's Luxury Room~

This is my master bathroom.
Now...I don't know if any of you are bath takers.
In the winter I take a bath everyday.
I'm one of those people that once I get cold I just can't get rid of it.
My only solution is a nice warm bath with a delicious glass of wine.
When we bought this house my husband had one requirement....a big bath tub for Maisy.
(See, now you know one of the many reasons I love him so much.....he's that kind of guy)
I used to always cram into a small tub.
I was just happy to have a bathtub with HOT water.

This is looking into my bathroom.
The funny thing though is it doesn't have a door...and no where to put one.
The first time Bill took a shower I snapped at him at 5:45 in the morning to shut the door.
I was watching him for a couple seconds......he was looking for a door.
With the light on behind him I could see him shrug and then he told me "Maisy, there isn't a bathroom door."
I was really frustrated..come on...this grown man can't even find a door. I can't even repeat the thoughts that were going through my head.
Needless to say...I had to crawl back into bed with my tail between my legs.
There isn't a bathroom door.
There is not sleeping in anymore.

I really try to keep fresh flowers in my bathroom.
Hey, why shouldn't I be able to have something for myself.
This is a great time of year for flowers.
All the stores are getting in bulbs.
LOVE IT!!
I love this dresser and everything it stands for.
It only has my stuff in it.

Growing up I didn't have any personal space.
Imagine this.....3 girls, 4 boys, 2 parents, 1 bathroom and 3.5 bedrooms.
I AM ALWAYS LOOKING FOR PERSONAL SPACE.
I have it. I'm so happy.
This dresser holds jewelry, hats, scarves, makeup and whatever else I want. Let me repeat that...whatever I want.

YEAH FOR SPACE.
YEAH FOR MAISY'S VERY OWN SPACE.

Wow- what a great bathroom! I LOVE your tub, I could soak in that thing for hours!

I'm the same way about the cold- once my insides get cold, the only way for me to get warm is to submerge myself in hot water.

If only we lived closer together!

Gorgeous bathroom! Poor fellow, being told to close a door that doesn't exist! ;-p

What a absolute wonderful retreat for you! When we bought this house I didn't come with a big whirlpool tub... but we plan to put one in... sometime.

Thanks for stopping by... The Rusty Chandeler is about 45 min away from my home so it takes a planned trip to get there.

Pretty bathroom, and your "personal" dresser is very sweet. Funny about there not being a bathroom door though.

Your bathroom and every other part of your house that you have shared here with us is lovely.
It's not a house, it's a home, it seems to me it's full of love.
Love that you keep fresh flowers around, that sure makes a difference.
You're awesome!

You are a kindred spirit! I gotta get in the tub when I am cold. Hubby didn't take baths for 19 years and now he is in my tub almost as much as I am.....I actually get kind of jealous and frustrated because it has always been my special place. I have all my favorite bath things and special decorations. Does that sound petty?? At least he gets it clean every time now....I had to pitch a tizzy a couple of times...nothing like running the tub full and getting in to find someone elses residue....UGH..Heehee! Your "Luxury Room" looks VERY comfy!

That is a gorgeous bathroom! I also LOVE to take a bath, we have the original claw foot tub in my bathroom. Its not as luxurious as yours, but it is definately heaven to crawl into!

I would love a bathroom like yours. Mine is an older house, and the 1 bathroom is combined w/the laundry room, in the spirit of practicality I guess.
I take a bath every night, even though I shower in the morning. I just need that soak to help me unwind at the end of the day.

Love your bath, the dresser, and the Don Quixote (sp) print above it.

Your bathroom is beautiful. I know what you mean about cramped. We've always had old houses with small baths, and now I have a newer house with a large one. It's a whole new world. I'm an old house kind of girl in my heart, but having a big bathroom space is a real plus. And yours is very handsome indeed.

XO,

Sheila :-)

I really think pictures of having a morning shave in the bathroom would dramatically increase traffic at your blog.

Your bathroom is so big! Mine is a closet compared to yours. I am hoping to update it this Spring. I have always wanted a big bathroom but not possible in this current house :(
The dresser is darling.

I love that dresser! SO SO SO cute! The knobs are super duper cute. I found some rose knobs in Savannah when I was there and fell in love with them, I bought them in blue- yours are heartier looking. What a cute space!

Ok- you really need to email me at suzbels@yahoo.com
1. Where did you find the vanity tray in your bathroom ? It's on the left side.
2. Love the necklace holder in your nook ! Can I find it ?
3. Is that granite in your bathroom ? Or Silestone... ???
I moved from an enormous bathroom like yours to a beach cottage that is tiny, but still holds a huge tub, but that's about it ! I'm trying to spruce it up !! I love your blog.
Please email me.... I'm doing the bathroom soon !!
