Socks??(mine)
Tape measure....I don't even remember measureing anything??
Mail....have I ever heard of a recycling bin???
Bradley's homework.....did he ever get it done??(better send the teacher an e-mail)
A roll of tape......I don't think I wrapped a present?? (I will just fantasize and think maybe someone is wrapping a present for me...who am I kidding)

I have the same dreams! I re-organize; buy a basket or clean out a draw in the kitchen and it happens all over again....within days it is cluttered; piled up once again..and when you ask who stuff or who left it there ...No one knows and know one did it.....I know the invisible clutter bug did it???

By the way those canisters are so cute; I love them!

Hey there is hope....I only have one son left at home; he is 20 and the clutter and messes do decrease.

Now if I can only get the hubster to stop using the chair in our bedroom as his closet.

Have a great Wednesday (hump day)!

When in doubt, just blame it on the kids, oh yeah, and hubby also!! Very funny, happens here all the time and I know it's not me! When do kids learn to put things away??? Enjoy your day, love the canister set!

C'mon Maisy, you gotta have helmets if you are going to go sledding down the stairs on cardboard boxes. Remember...safety first.

Here is my theory...(I have those same canisters btw) I have the same problem with my art/office desk area. I go to bed with my desk a mess, but my heart filled up. My Mom was a total neat FREAK when I was a kid. She NEVER had time to play with me because she was too busy cleaning/fussing. I spend LOTS of time with my kids. The are teens now, but we still hang together ALL the time. Hence, my messy desk and full heart! Heehee!
Blessings- LillySue
P.S. Gotta L*O*V*E your Hubby!!

It happens to the best of us! What you need to do is create new places for the "stuff" to go. It seems like when you don't know where something should go, it just goes to the same familiar spot. I have like 3 junk drawers :)

I have done this to only to be dissappointed. I agree where does some of the items that finds there way to be clutter come from.

Looks just like my house, and i ask myself the same question: 'what is wrong with me'?
That list would be much longer than what is right with me as I see myself sometimes.
I'm glad the lord, and others, see what is right with me. =0)

Blessings on you day, clean desk, or not.

PS I am having my 100th post giveaway. The prize is something else you could mess up your counter with. =0))

Oh, you made me laugh so hard with this post!

That looks like my craft room... I clean it up, organize everything and then... you know what happens!

are you feeling better?

Bless your heart! :o) My kitchen counter looks a lot like yours! I really need to be doing some straightening right now. :o) I am taking a coffee break and some blogging, so in about 10 minutes, the whip will crack and back to work I go. :o)
Have a wonderful day!!

Ok so this is going to be totally lame and I don't really recommend this but PUt a Microwave there. I promise you wont have room for a bike helmet

Do you have a mud room or foyer that you could put up a little organization system with everybody's name on it. That way they could drop there stuff there instead of on your pretty countertops. Maybe give a treat to the neatest space at the end of the week? I saw something like this on HGTV's Mission Organizatin show.

Now, you tell me, what do I need to do from putting my own junk on my own countertops? No kids or hubby to blame here. :-) Really, that long countertop is such a convenient place to drop junk mail and such.

I am so "with you" on this one. On most days, it seems that all I do is run around the house and try control the clutter!!

Sheila Rumney said...

Yes, there are days when it is hopeless. I try to stay organized too, but clutter just seems to collect like dust especially with myself, 1 husband, 2 kids and 2 dogs.

They say a messy desk is the sign of a creative mind.

darnit. might have to put those cute jars somewhere where they look pretty all the time.
and get rid of all the kids toys.

Maisy,
I have a counter just like yours. Mine's larger with more clutter! I keep clearing it off and stuff reappears magically. Then I throw all the stuff in my junk drawer in the kitchen, which I cleaned out a while ago, but now needs help again. I haven't figured out a solution, if you do please tell!
One thing I've started doing is going around the house at night with a laundry basket and throwing things in that don't belong where I find them. Then in the morning I put things back where they belong. Or it just sits in the basket until I need it for laundry. But who has time for that?

Those ARE cute canisters. And my kitchen counters tend to look that way, too, try as I may to keep 'em clear. Oh well. You can only do so much in a day.
:D
P.S. Get well soon!
